Course Requirements

  • Call the LAMS Main Office (513-558-5174) for assistance if you need help finding the building or office.
  • Before attending LAMS training, do not work with animals/in vivaria at other institutions on the same day.
  • Trainees are not permitted to observe or work in the LAMS barrier for 24 hours following training, unless you take a shower and change into fresh clothes to avoid potential for biocontamination.
  • You must wear closed-toed shoes and long pants.
  • Have a snack and drink water before the training, and wear comfortable/light clothing to the training. You will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and this helps reduce feeling overheated or faint.
  • Do not handle pet rodents or pets whose diet includes rodents before training.
  • If you are more than 5 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule for a later class.
  • Course will be cancelled if less than 2 people enroll.
