Using technology is a great way to enhance student learning. However, we often think mostly about ways to use technology inside the classroom. This workshop will focus on ways to utilize technology in intentional ways outside the classroom to maximize student learning inside the classroom. We will discuss technologies, assignments, and techniques that can be used to structure out-of-class activities, and how these out-of-class activities can be used to increase in-class engagement.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify technology that can be used for out-of-class activities
- Design out-of-class activities using this technology
- Combine out-of-class activities with in-class activities to maximize student engagement
