GUEST SPEAKER:
Alan Hargens, PhD Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC San Diego
Dr. Hargens has served as Chief of the Space Physiology Branch at NASA Ames Research Center, and has edited 12 books and published more than 360 peer-reviewed articles and over 60 chapters. He has trained over 250 students, two of whom became NASA astronauts and one who is a Fulbright Scholar. He currently mentor students interested in attending graduate school, medical school, schools of oceanography, marine biology and bioengineering as well as research in general.
His recent awards include the Nello Pace Award for Outstanding Leadership and Contributions to the PRIORITY:5 CLASS:PUBLIC END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
