SUMMARY:5 - Week Building a Mindfulness Practice series
DESCRIPTION:
Establish a Daily Mindfulness Practice in 5 weeks.

The benefits of mindfulness include decreased stress and anxiety, increased focus and concentration, and improved sleep, communication, relationships, and physical well-being. These benefits can come from brief practices integrated into your day, but habitual practice is key for sustaining improvements.

This series is designed for anyone interested in starting a mindfulness practice or making mindfulness a habitual part of their day.

Starting Tuesday, May 14, 2024: 5 weekly 1-hour experiential and interactive virtual sessions offered Tuesday, 3:00 - 4:00 PM will center on learning to build your mindfulness practice.

Sessions include scientific but practical information on behavior change and habit formation, the introduction or reinforcement of various ways to practice mindfulness, guided experientials, time for Q&A and discussion, as well as daily follow-up resources. The goal of the course is for participants to walk away with an understanding of how to incorporate mindfulness practice as a consistent habit in a way that is right for them. This course is offered by the UC Center for Integrative Health and Wellness in collaboration with the Faculty Enrichment Center.
