SUMMARY:Luggage Tags & Foodie Vibes: One professor’s relentless pursuit of borrring - to best class ever!!
DESCRIPTION:
If I had quarter for every time I have had to casually walk over to a heavy-eyed head bobbing student with a slightly raised voice indicating, we are not sleeping right now… I would have enough change for a lifetime of toll roads on our family vacations! So, is what I am about to share with you going to completely eliminate those sleepy-eyed, stayed up or out too late students in your classroom? No, probably not, but will you challenge, captivate, and create a sense of curiosity in all the others, absolutely! The product of two airline parents and years of living and working overseas, I have had the privilege to research and discover cultural phenomena in almost every corner of the globe. These opportunities have undoubtedly cultivated the wanderlust spirit that pervades my pedagogical approach today. From micro-lectures infused with humor, music, and personality, to the casual conversations of traveling professionals in the Lindner Global Lounge podcast, to off-campus foodie-focused GlobalSpeak & Eat events with honors alumni, to meticulously curated study abroad adventures, I refuse to be borr-rring. This workshop was previously presented at the May 2025 LT@UC Conference where attendees selected it for an Outstanding Presentation Award because of its exceptional merit. Michelle Johns from the Lindner College of Buisness will be presenting.
