Designing Online Courses (DOC) is a three-week asynchronous course (with specific due dates) centered on instructional design for online courses. It is one of two foundational trainings required for the Online Teaching Excellence Certificate (OTEC).
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Support student success in an online course.
- Develop measurable and specific learning objectives.
- Develop and employ assessments, activities, and tools that align to learning objectives.
- Design an online course that meets the UC Course Quality Standards.
